It's not what's wrong with you. It's what's happened to you. The parts of you that learned to survive are not your enemy, and they can be met with kindness instead of shame.

### Who I work with

I help women who have spent years being everything to everyone. Many are in their 30s and 40s. They are capable, responsible, and the one everyone counts on. And they are tired.

Maybe you grew up as "the responsible one." Maybe you learned early to manage other people's feelings, keep the peace, or never need too much. Those skills helped you survive. Now they may look like burnout, people-pleasing, trouble saying no, or a mind that won't turn off.

I also work with women healing from complex trauma, PTSD, grief, and controlling or narcissistic relationships. Many are carrying chronic illness, caregiving for children or aging parents, or a complicated family on top of it all.

### What I believe about change

Trying harder or "just stopping" a habit rarely lasts. Real change goes deeper than behavior. That's why I work in three steps:

1. Safety first. We build simple tools that help your body and mind feel steady, so the work never feels like too much.
2. Get to know your parts. We get curious about the parts of you that over-function, freeze, or keep the peace, instead of fighting them.
3. Heal what's underneath. We do the deeper trauma work so the old wound driving the pattern can finally rest.

### How I work

- Parts work (Internal Family Systems): a way of working with the different parts of yourself. We meet the parts that learned to survive with curiosity instead of criticism, and look at the beliefs that keep old patterns in place.
- Brainspotting: a body-based way of healing that uses where you look to help process what words alone don't reach, like a startle response to a certain tone of voice.
- Talk therapy: ordinary conversation keeps the story honest, so you're not talking yourself out of what actually happened.

### My story and training

I don't come to this work as someone who has it all figured out. I came to it through my own healing, including caregiving, chronic illness, and years of trauma-informed peer support. Parts work and Brainspotting changed how I relate to myself, from judgment toward compassion. That's what I hope to offer you: someone who walks beside you, at your pace.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee at Attune Center for Healing, supervised by Christina Whitney, LMFT #111050. Attune Center for Healing (https://www.attunehealing.com/) is a program of Northern California Family Counseling and Wellness Center (https://northerncaliforniafamily.com/). I am pursuing my Master's in Counseling Psychology through Simpson University.

### At the first session

We start by talking about where you are, at a pace that feels manageable: your history (as much or as little as you want to share), what you're facing right now, and what you're hoping will change. Nothing has to be rushed, and you can tell me to slow down at any point.
